With over 25 years of franchise, business development, and strategic planning experience, Laurel (“Lori”) Israel Sturm, is a franchise attorney, adjunct professor in MBA Programs, speaker for franchise industry programs and organizations, and trainer, career life coach, and franchise consultant. Today, through her company, eAdvantage4u, she provides entrepreneurial and franchise education and consulting, helping people explore business ownership. She researches and suggests business models that leverage her clients’ talents, skills sets and education. She shares her insights and provides direction to help them find the right business to reach their personal, career and financial goals! Lori is currently a Co-Founder of a brokerage network called FranBrokers Consortium, llc She is also named a Women Leader of Distinction in 2015 for her efforts in business and the community. She is Director Emeritus on the Board of the American Corporate Counsel Association, Columbus Chapter (having served as past president). Lori continues to be an active member of the International Franchise Association, recently receiving her Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) Award. She participates as a member of the American Bar Association Franchise Forum and in the US and International Legal Symposiums. She has worked her way up from staff attorney to general counsel, for franchise companies including: Wendy’s, Rax Restaurants, Petland, Scotts Lawn Care, Red Roof Inns, and Steak Escape. She has taught in many central Ohio colleges and universities as well as speaks to business leaders in local central Ohio professional groups and people in transition. She is a graduate of the Leadership Columbus Chamber program, was named Volunteer of the Year from the Small Business Administration of Columbus, Ohio and was named a finalist in Top Cat, a Columbus Chamber of Commerce award to recognize contributions of leaders in education and technology for helping people launch and grow their businesses, among other awards over Lori's career. Lori is a “people” person. She loves working with entrepreneurs and people “in-transition” to find the right business opportunity. In her past role as legal counsel, she negotiated and drafted hundreds of domestic and international contracts, including single and multi-unit franchise and master franchise agreements. She has first-hand knowledge of franchise offering circulars. She understands real estate and leases as well as site selection and construction processes. Lori has formed numerous companies, writing strategic business plans, providing market and financial analysis, and guiding enterprises to achieve their financial objectives. She is knowledgeable regarding lending requirements, SBA financing, and debt restructuring. She will lend her business and legal expertise to help guide you as you evaluate various franchise and business opportunities. From these experiences. Lori has gained significant knowledge that she can help you examine your strategic goals, and help you develop strategies to reach those goals through business ownership through a franchise or business opportunity.
